2026 Mazu Folk Culture Series Activities at Baishatun Gongtian Temple, Tongxiao, Miaoli

<p>The "Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage" activity of Gongtian Temple in Tongxiao Township, Miaoli County, is an annual folk spectacle in Miaoli County, with over a century of history. Not only is it historically significant and grand in scale, but every year, residents from all over the country enthusiastically participate in the pilgrimage on foot to Beigang Chaotian Temple, covering nearly 400 kilometers in total, and spanning across 4 counties in central Taiwan. Due to its profound traditional and unique characteristics, in 2010 (Year 99 of the Republic of China), it was designated as an important national folk ritual by the Ministry of Culture, and in 2013 (Year 102 of the Republic of China), it was selected as one of the "Taiwan's Top 100 Religious Sights" by the Ministry of the Interior.</p>
