Blue Tears, a dream destination hailed as a must-visit in one's lifetime, has been recognized by CNN as one of the 'World's 15 Greatest Natural Wonders' and by NASA as an international-level special landscape. Appearing in the waters around Matsu annually starting from April (with April to June being the peak season, ending between September and October), it adds a mysterious allure to Matsu, an island rich in wartime history, traditional villages, natural ecology, and religious culture. The appearance of Blue Tears is a natural phenomenon that relies on probability, much like whale and dolphin watching off Taiwan's east coast or searching for wild Ezo deer in Hokkaido, Japan – it's not guaranteed. Therefore, travelers are encouraged to extend their stay in Matsu to increase their chances of experiencing this rare annual opportunity. The agency advises that visitors "chasing the tears" should approach it with a relaxed and joyful attitude, taking into account the day's tide times and wind direction (south wind), as this will significantly enhance their likelihood of witnessing this unique natural spectacle.
