2026 Rift Valley Mugumuyu International Marathon Event

<p>To revitalize tourism in Hualien and promote sports tourism, the "2026 Rift Valley Mugumuyu International Marathon Event" is being organized. Mugumuyu, which was once a disaster-stricken area and has now partially recovered, has been chosen as the main venue for the marathon event. It will host a full range of marathon races including leisure, half-marathon, and full-marathon categories. The planned routes include the Liyu Lake Loop, Chihnan Forest Recreation Area, sections along the Mugua River, Chuying Trail, and other scenic and moderately challenging running routes. It is hoped that by leveraging the novelty of a 'first marathon' experience combined with the domestic sports trend, local tourism industry development will be re-energized.</p>
