2026 Taiwan International Birdwatching Marathon

<p>The Birdwatching Marathon event focuses on the avian ecology within the natural landscapes of Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan counties. This 24-hour birdwatching activity not only aims to satisfy birdwatchers' expectations and reveal the beauty of avian ecology in the Yun-Chia-Nan region but also seeks to draw greater domestic and international attention to the Yun-Chia-Nan Coastal Area. The Yun-Chia-Nan Coastal National Scenic Area, located on Taiwan's west coast, features alluvial sandbars, lagoons, and wetlands along its shores. These provide diverse ecological environments suitable for a wide variety of organisms, boasting rich flora and fauna and making it a truly unique scenic area. From Hukou Wetland, Aogu Wetland, Puzixi Estuary Wetland, Haomeiliao Wetland, and Nanbudai Wetland in the north, to Beimen Lagoon, Cigu Wetland, and Sicao Wetland in the south, these are crucial wintering habitats for migratory birds arriving in Taiwan, creating a very lively birdwatching scene.
