2026 City God Night Patrol: Hāng Jiā Ritual for Averting Misfortune

<p>The City God Night Patrol Hāng Jiā Ritual for Averting Misfortune at the National Historic Site Chiayi City God Temple encompasses the nearly century-old Chiayi City God Ghost Festival and practices like "Zha Handan" (Exploding Handan) to bless devotees with peace. This year, one of the innovative activities launched for the Chiayi City God Night Patrol is a collaboration with local theater troupe Ruan Theater Company. It aims to transform supernatural legends about the Chiayi City God Ghost Festival, as told by locals, into a short film produced in a micro-movie format. Additionally, City Gods and participants from various regions are invited to join, including Kinmen's "Gong Bei Po" (Husband Carries Wife) and "Da Hua Cao" (Beating the Grass), as well as Mainland China and Singapore's "Da Ye Er Ye" (First Master and Second Master).
