2026 Austronesian Indigenous Peoples Wedding

<p>Through the 'Austronesian Indigenous Peoples Wedding Series Activities,' with the traditional indigenous weddings of the Rukai and Paiwan tribes from three townships in northern Pingtung as the main theme, covering various aspects from tribal customs to daily life culture and craft aesthetics, we hope to offer visiting couples and travelers an immersive travel experience, wandering through Kaohsiung-Pingtung tribes and feeling the warmth of their homelands.</p><p>The main event of the Austronesian Indigenous Peoples Wedding is the traditional noble wedding of the Paiwan and Rukai tribes. Ancient rituals such as proposals, the firewood-gathering ceremony, erecting a swing, betrothal, and marriage are unique cultural elements of the Paiwan and Rukai tribes. This allows participating couples to deeply experience indigenous traditional culture and weddings. Under the joint witness of tribal members and elders, they can complete this important life event by following ancient tribal customs, and thereby gain a greater understanding and respect for indigenous culture.</p><p>The series activities combine local crafts, gourmet food, souvenirs, and other specialty vendors, as well as diverse experiential tours, inviting everyone to participate in a month-long celebration of lively, magnificent, and culturally rich indigenous romantic wedding activities, and share in the joy of the newlyweds.</p>
