Zhaowu Pier is located on Provincial Highway 21 in Yuchi Township, Nantou County. It is one of the four major piers of Sun Moon Lake, boasting an excellent geographical location facing east, making it a superb spot for sunrise viewing. Due to local climate, topography, and hydrological conditions, the lake surface is often enveloped in a thin mist in the early mornings. When combined with the reflection of the rising sun, it creates a captivating misty dawn scene, earning it the beautiful name 'Shuishe Morning Mist' and ranking it among the Eight Scenic Wonders of Sun Moon Lake. Zhaowu Pier serves as the starting point for the annual 'Sun Moon Lake Cross-Lake Swim' event, which covers a distance of approximately 3.3 kilometers and concludes at Ita Thao Pier. The pier has undergone renovations and upgrades, expanding its recreational space and pier platform, and improving lighting equipment to provide a more comfortable environment for visitors. Opening hours are: Summer (approximately April to September) from 07:00 to 18:00; Winter (approximately October to March) from 08:00 to 17:00. In case of adverse weather conditions such as typhoons or dense fog, the pier will be temporarily closed, and ferry services will be suspended.
