2026 Dakeng Butterfly and Firefly Festival

As spring turns to summer and nature awakens, the highly anticipated "2026 Dakeng Butterfly and Firefly Festival" is about to make a dazzling debut! The annual spring firefly viewing event, which attracts many participants, will first take place on April 11th, 12th, and 18th. We invite everyone to venture into the secret forest under the guidance of professional instructors and personally experience the enchanting sight of fireflies dancing like golden stardust sprinkled across the woods. The summer butterfly viewing event, starting in May, will then take the stage with fervor. Starting May 17th, five consecutive ecological guided tours will be offered. Registration dates are May 11th and May 25th, respectively. Participants can enjoy the sight of butterflies fluttering in the warm early summer sun, and through DIY workshops such as "Zentangle Coasters" and "Phone Lanyards," transform the beauty of nature into meaningful souvenirs for their daily lives. Spring Firefly Viewing Event Dates: April 11th, April 12th, April 18th (Registration opens at 10:00 AM on March 31st) Summer Butterfly Viewing Event Dates: May 17th, May 24th, May 31st (Registration opens at 10:00 AM on May 11th); June 7th, June 14th (Registration opens at 10:00 AM on May 25th) (60 participants will be selected for each session, with 20 on the waiting list.) To avoid wasting learning resources, a registration fee of NT$200 will be charged per person (free for children under 3 years old). ☝️Firefly Protection Reminders☝️ If you plan to visit on your own, please remember: Wear long sleeves, long pants, sneakers, and a hat to prevent mosquito bites. Be sure to cover your flashlight with red cellophane. Do not catch, do not take away, and do not disturb, to preserve the beautiful scenery for future enjoyment.
