Shimaoshan Trail

Shimaoshan (Shiwei Mountain) is located on the easternmost side of Dongyin Island and is one of the island's highest points offering the most expansive views. The trail winds along the sea cliffs, reaching an elevation of about 150 meters, from which you can overlook the wave-battered sea-eroded terrain and the magnificent seascape. Extending from the lighthouse area all the way to geological wonders such as Lieh Nu Yi Keng (Martyr's Pit) and Yi Xian Tian (A Thread of Sky), it is the best route to experience Dongyin Island's unique landscape of 'sea and sky merging, cliffs facing the ocean.' Along the way, the clear vertical joints of the rock walls are visible, and long-term sea erosion and weathering have formed rare sea groove landscapes, making it a classic trail interwoven with nature, geology, and battlefield culture.
