Kunqiu Beach

The sea area at the junction of Kunqiu Beach and Snake Island boasts a rare 'square sea' phenomenon. During spring and summer, ocean currents combine with the ebb and flow of tides, and the topography of Snake Island separates the currents, causing waves from different directions to overlap and create this spectacular sight. The sunsets here are extraordinarily beautiful, a unique wonder of Matsu, making it worthwhile to visit this 'cape of the human world' to witness its crimson evening skies. When the tide recedes, a sandy path extending from Kunqiu Beach directly to Snake Mountain is revealed.
