Taipei Memory Warehouse (Mitsui Warehouse)

The Taipei Memory Warehouse is a red-brick building constructed during the Japanese colonial period. It is situated next to Beimen (North Gate) and Taipei Main Station, and near the Tamsui River and Dadaocheng Wharf. This location reflects Taipei's prosperous trade development at the time and bears witness to the transition of commercial transportation from waterways to land routes. The museum focuses on mountain forest resources and commodity trade, telling stories within the context of watershed and urban development. Through the spatial evolution from upstream to downstream, it narrates how people on this land utilized and created resources, while also fostering a platform for diverse perspectives and dialogue.
