Visitor Essentials
Qianshan Park is located in the Yangmingshan area, adjacent to the east side of Mt. Shamao, the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal, and the Teachers' Training Center. It is an important tourist attraction in the suburbs of Taipei City, covering an area of approximately 38,328 square meters. Qianshan Park boasts rich scenery. Besides offering views of Mt. Shamao and Mt. Qixing, during the Japanese colonial period, streams from the slopes west of Zhongshan Hall, below Mt. Qixing, were introduced to flow through the park. These streams converge to form Yangming Lake, which reflects the beautiful scenery of Mt. Qixing. The lakefront also features free public restrooms for men and women, making it highly popular among the public. It is a prime destination for cherry blossom viewing in spring, summer retreats, autumn gatherings, and maple viewing in winter. Qianshan Park No. 4 is conceived with Mt. Shamao's rounded volcanic shape in mind. It utilizes wisteria flowers, which thrive in Yangmingshan, to create a landscape that echoes Mt. Shamao's form. A green mound serves as a new entrance image for Yangmingshan, and when the wisteria blooms, visitors walking through can revel in the beautiful purple romantic scenery. Qianshan Park No. 3 is located in Lane 38, Section 1, Yangming Road. When the cherry blossoms and azaleas in the park are in full bloom, it resembles a secluded paradise far from the dust of the city. Qianshan Park No. 1 - Panliu Garden Area is situated next to the Teachers' Center. It features renovated attractions such as the Xinzichi (Heart Pond), the tree-shaded Bi Yue Lake (Moon-Shrouded Lake) recreational area, foot bath areas, and Panliu Garden itself, where several mountain spring waterways and white sulfur hot spring waterways are intertwined with Yangmingshan volcanic rocks. For the landscaping stones along the stream, Japanese national treasure stone mason Motomi Koguchi was specially invited to provide on-site guidance, ensuring that old and new rocks complement each other, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of mountains, forests, and waters. Qianshan Park No. 2 - Yangming Lake Area, located across the road and adjacent to Panliu Garden Area. Stream water flows under Shamao Bridge and converges here to form a lake. In addition to renovating the free public restrooms for men and women, two new hot spring foot bath pools have been added, allowing visitors to soak their feet while admiring the beautiful reflection of Mt. Shamao in the lake and the unique sight of water lilies blooming in winter. Along Shamao Road, band-shaped andesite stone lamp seats are set up along the lake, providing places for people to rest and enjoy the magnificent shapes of Penglai Island and Mt. Qixing in the lake. This renovation project restored the edges of Yangming Lake to a natural pond landscape, with grass and rocks gently extending into the water. Newly planted green maples and cherry blossoms by the lake enhance its natural elegance. After dredging, the water of Yangming Lake now displays a rare, dreamy aquamarine color, composing a symphony of mountains and water.
