Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall

Dadaocheng was the primary birthplace of Taiwan's modernization ideologies. The benevolent and ambitious individuals of Dadaocheng displayed a broad worldview and a profound cultivation of new culture, and even under the high pressure of Japanese colonial rule, they still sowed the seeds of new culture and bloomed resilient flowers of new culture. The Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall will recreate the unparalleled historical splendor of Dadaocheng, commemorate the fearless pioneers of new culture from that era, and in addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials from the New Culture Movement, it will continue to integrate and revitalize various precious cultural assets related to Dadaocheng. By researching the activity centers and former residences of important historical figures, it will connect them into cultural history trails and build Dadaocheng into a 'Dadaocheng History and Arts Center,' making Dadaocheng an open ecological museum of cultural history. In the future, on the streets of Dadaocheng, visitors can listen to cultural and historical workers recount the moving historical deeds of the benevolent and ambitious individuals and refined scholars from the era of awakening; and within the memorial hall, the historical atmosphere of that period will be recreated. In various exhibition and performance halls, visitors can experience contemporary new literature, listen to contemporary new ballads, watch contemporary new plays, and appreciate contemporary new art.
