Visitor Essentials
Dream Lake is located on the southeastern side of Qixing Mountain in Yangmingshan National Park, Taipei. It is a nationally important wetland that nurtures the rare Taiwan quillwort. The lake often presents a hazy view due to the drifting clouds and mist in the mountainous area. There is an observation deck and well-maintained trails along the lake. The lake area trails are not long, making them suitable for families and light hikers. Combining natural ecology with beautiful geological scenery, it is a popular ecological secret spot in the mountainous area of Yangmingshan. Rare plants, such as Eriocaulon quinquangulare and Sphagnum cuspidatum, grow along the lake shore, contributing to its diverse ecosystem. The habitat records species such as Gunter's frog, Taipei tree frog, and Moltrecht's tree frog. Birdsong and croaking interweave, showcasing the natural ambiance of the mountain wetland. To protect the habitat of these precious species, Dream Lake is a restricted area. Visitors can only view it from the observation deck and are not allowed to enter the lakeshore or descend to the lakebed. The trail sections can be slippery, and the mountain weather changes rapidly. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes and be mindful of visibility. Dream Lake is close to attractions like Lengshuikeng, Qixing Mountain Trail, and Xiaoyoukeng, making it suitable for planning a half-day or full-day itinerary. It is a representative spot for nature observation and wetland education.
