Shuangcheng Street Night Market is almost entirely made up of well-established stalls, with countless snacks that have been sold for over 30 years. Because they are so delicious, word of mouth spreads rapidly, and many regulars and new visitors automatically show up, even in bad weather. Although the night market is not large, its uniformly neat orange-red signs are well-organized, making it Taipei City's first regional model night market. With many pubs nearby, it also attracts international friends. The businesses at these stalls are incredibly good; you wouldn't know how good unless you visit. You absolutely must come and try the food. The delicious Chiayi chicken rice is savory, tasty, and pairs perfectly with rice. The authentic boiled goose meat, with its fragrant goose broth, satisfies even picky eaters. Braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan) is also famous, particularly Huang Ji's Braised Pork Rice, which, like Chiayi Chicken Rice, received an honorable mention in Taipei City's Braised Pork Rice competition. Its deliciousness goes without saying. The braised pork, stewed with pork hock and trotters, is richer yet not greasy. Finally, don't forget the desserts here: Grandma's traditional Mi Tai Mu (rice noodles) and Aiyu Jelly, nostalgic Taiwanese snacks that are unbelievably delicious!
