Wenchang Street is located in the heart of the traditional markets of Xinyi Road and Linjiang Street, and is a famous furniture street in Taipei. In its early days, the area was mostly home to stores selling wood, hardware, cement, and other decorative building materials, with very few furniture shops. Some furniture shops would even custom-make and sell sofas on-site, hammering away at their entrances. Later, due to the demolition of illegal structures near Daan Forest Park, many neighboring furniture businesses relocated here. This gradually led to the unique streetscape we see today, with over a hundred furniture stores, and thus the name 'Furniture Street' was born. Today, under the city government's planning, this furniture street presents a unique blend of traditional street charm and modern decor. It showcases a distinct cultural and economic background, while simultaneously catering to both leisure and shopping needs. The furniture here is highly diverse, offering everything from European, Chinese, and trendy styles to antique reproductions, and from large furniture pieces to mini home accessories. If you're looking for creative furniture that suits your unique style, you definitely won't go wrong by coming here.
