The Maokong Gondola, with a total length of 4.03 kilometers, is Taipei City's first gondola system. A one-way trip takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, with four stations for passengers to embark and disembark: 'Taipei Zoo Station,' 'Taipei Zoo South Station,' 'Zhinan Temple Station,' and 'Maokong Station.' Taking the Maokong Gondola from Taipei Zoo Station is simple: just take the MRT Wenhu Line to its last stop, 'Taipei Zoo Station,' and then walk to the Gondola Taipei Zoo Station to transfer to the Maokong Gondola. Taipei Zoo South Station is the first stop of the Maokong Gondola. Visitors who have finished exploring the zoo can take the gondola shuttle bus to Taipei Zoo South Station and then board the gondola to Maokong. Zhinan Temple Station is the second stop. Zhinan Temple houses five major halls, attracting visitors from all over to worship. There's also a tranquil tea pavilion offering Wenshan Pouchong tea, Tieguanyin, and other teas for visitors to relax. Maokong Station is the final stop of the gondola. This area is filled with tea plantations and teahouses, where many people specifically come to drink tea and chat. When night falls, you can also overlook the entire Greater Taipei area's nightscape from here. If you visit Maokong, be sure to find a teahouse, enjoy the famous 'Muzha Tieguanyin' and 'Wenshan Pouchong Tea,' and savor delicious specialty tea meals while admiring the beautiful scenery of the Taipei Basin – it will truly make your trip worthwhile! The three most beautiful times to ride the gondola are amidst the clouds and mist after rain, during the twilight glow of dusk, and under the brilliant night sky. As you ascend and descend with the mountains, you can overlook passing MRT trains, the riverside park along Jingmei River, Taipei 101, and the Giraffe Incinerator. Upon reaching 'Corner 2 Station,' there's a significant turn where the view opens up, offering a panoramic sight of highway traffic. After passing Zhinan Temple Station, you'll enter a steep V-shaped slope, which is the climax of the gondola journey – an unforgettable experience.
