Management of Fuzhoushan Park began in the 1990s. In fiscal year 1993, a budget was allocated for the demolition of above-ground structures. After their gradual removal, the area was landscaped and beautified to preserve its original natural appearance. Pavilions were also added based on suggestions from hikers, seamlessly integrating with the existing park and providing Taipei citizens with a new, excellent recreational destination. The park is situated on a hillside adjacent to Xinhai Road and Wolong Street, covering an area of approximately 172,488 square meters with an elevation of about 105 meters. Originally the Fuzhoushan Public Cemetery, its development into a park has primarily focused on natural ecological conservation. Extensive tree planting has resulted in a complete forest landscape, rich ecology, and pleasant scenery. Aside from essential soil and water conservation and disaster prevention facilities, other artificial structures within the park are minimized and designed for easy management and maintenance. Hiking trails have been established where one can enjoy the sounds of insects and birds, and breathe fresh air. Pavilions are also available for rest, offering distant views of Guanyin Mountain and Datun Mountain, a panoramic view of the Daan District cityscape, and the best vantage point to admire the full facade of Taipei 101. It is truly a tranquil haven amidst the city's hustle and bustle. The planting plan prioritizes preserving the natural appearance of the park. Specific shade-providing, bird- and butterfly-attracting, and flowering trees and shrubs are planted only at key locations such as hiking trail entrances, rest platforms, and pavilions. What was once a cemetery has now become a popular destination for hikers and an excellent place for ecological education.
