Rongxing Garden Park is located in Zhongshan District, in the heart of the city. It is bordered by Longjiang Street to the east, Jianguo North Road to the west, Minquan East Road to the south, and Wuchang Street to the north. The park grounds are rectangular, covering a total area of 6.5 hectares. It was developed and completed as a private garden by a private company in 1968. In August 1989, it was expropriated and developed into a public park, open for public use. Between 2001 and 2006, the park underwent renovation and reconstruction in three phases. It retains features such as a bougainvillea trellis (flower corridor) popular for wedding photos, the Liugongqun natural wetland ecological pond, and a water feature performance stage. The southwest side features a shaded plaza used for morning and evening activities, offering spaces for dancing and practicing Tai Chi at different times. Other amenities include a sunny lawn in the northeast, a maple sweetgum sleeper-lined path, recreational pathways, a scenic lotus pond, wooden boardwalks, a children's play area, a basketball court, a red brick-dust track, a stylish management and service center, three comfortable public restrooms, and multi-person pavilions for activities like playing chess and chatting, providing high-quality recreational and activity spaces. In recent years, with an emphasis on ecology, fireflies have been successfully reintroduced into the ecological pond through cooperation among the local borough chief, residents, and experts. The park management continues to conduct ecological surveys and plan environmental improvements. Currently, there is a stable firefly population, making it a rare spot in downtown Taipei where one can observe fireflies.
