Visitor Essentials

This park is located at the intersection of Wenchang Street and Tonghua Street. It was established in 1987 and was originally named 'Wentong Park', with an area of 1,180 square meters. It was later renamed 'Tonghua Park'. Wenchang Street, adjacent to Tonghua Park, is Taipei's famous 'Furniture Street,' where shops selling all kinds of furniture can be seen everywhere. Not far away is the Linjiang Street Night Market, featuring Hakka culture and known as a popular night market in Taipei. Its nearly 200 stalls offering a variety of gourmet snacks attract many Taipei residents who linger and return. The entrance of Tonghua Park is planted with seasonal flowers that change with the seasons. During the blooming season, the bougainvillea on the trellises is full of red flowers, beautifully adorning the entire park and making it impossible to overlook. Although the park's overall design predominantly features hard paving, it is also planted with golden shower trees, banyan trees, and magnolia trees, whose dense foliage still provides excellent shade. Even though there isn't enough sunlight under the trees, shade-tolerant plants such as Chinese evergreen, sword fern, croton, and cordyline are arranged, enriching the park's overall ecology.
