In the 42nd year of the Republic of China (1953), local gentry and elders of Songshan, including Wen Jin-bo and Liu Yong-hao, raised funds to build a bamboo structure, enshrining the Jade Emperor as the main deity, and named it 'Songshan Fengtian Temple'. In the 48th year of the Republic of China (1959), Kai'an Temple on Yongji Road received a branch spirit of 'Wunian Qiansui' (Five-Year Lords) from Marunshan Zhen'an Temple in Baozhong Township, Yunlin. Due to its flourishing incense offerings, local residents collectively decided to merge the deities enshrined in both temples and planned to expand the temple at its current location. Songshan Fengtian Temple is situated on Hushan (Tiger Mountain) within the Four Beasts Mountains, adjacent to the Taipei City Government and Xinyi commercial district, offering distant views of Datun, Qixing, Shamao, Guanyin, and other peaks. The Hushan (Tiger Mountain) Trail of the Four Beasts Mountains is located at Fengtian Temple, making it a must-pass route for citizens hiking the mountain. Crowds gather, forming a bustling marketplace that meets the daily needs (such as food and clothing) of hikers and nearby residents. From its elevated position, the spectacular cityscape and beautiful scenery are all visible. Offering tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle, it is an excellent place for citizens to hike, relax, and find inner peace. (Source: Songshan Fengtian Temple Official Website)
