Changshan Temple, built in 1931, has a simple yet dignified appearance. Inside, Guanyin Bodhisattva is enshrined. Legend has it that in the early years of the Republic of China, a resident living near Zhanghu accidentally discovered a stone statue resembling Guanyin Bodhisattva. He then sincerely worshipped it. Later, due to the statue's efficacy in granting wishes, the number of devotees grew, and they funded the construction of the temple. After several renovations, it has taken on its present appearance. Perched high above, the temple offers a wide plaza in front, which is an excellent spot to overlook the greater Taipei metropolitan area. There are three hiking trails nearby, and on holidays, hikers and pilgrims visit in a continuous stream, making it the most famous temple in the Muzha tea region. Among the famous temples in the Erge Mountain range, Changshan Temple is the most renowned, second only to Zhinan Temple. The temple grounds offer an excellent panoramic view, with the entire Taipei Basin visible, often attracting hikers and trekkers who stop to gaze into the distance. Furthermore, with tea plantations all around, there's a constant flow of visitors enjoying tea, making it an important recreational hub for the public. With Changshan Temple as its center, three trails radiate outwards, leading to various other recreational spots. These include the Feilong Mountain Trail (leading to the NCC Huanshan Road), the Changshan Temple - Zhinan Elementary School section, and the Jiouqian Temple Trail. The starting and ending points of all three trails are located at Changshan Temple Plaza. The distinctive feature of the Feilong Trail is the continuous stretch of rocks along its path, which from a distance resembles a dinosaur's spine, hence its name. The trail system connecting to Zhinan Elementary School (No. 9-2, Lane 34, Section 3, Zhinan Road) is lined with Tieguanyin tea plantations throughout. After completing the trail, one's whole body will exude the aroma of tea. The Jiouqian Temple Trail is relatively steep, but along the way, in front of Fude Temple, there is a century-old banyan tree with intertwined roots forming numerous gnarled growths, creating a very unique sight.
