Zhagigu Waterfall is a collective term for a group of several waterfalls, located in the Laiji tribal area and part of the Tashan waterfall cluster. Tashan's terrain is high and rugged, with approximately seventy to eighty waterfalls along the Tashan Stream. Among them, Zhagigu Waterfall is the largest in Laiji and the most renowned natural large waterfall in Tashan, sharing its fame with Tianshui Waterfall. In the Tsou language, Zhagigu means 'deep valley' or 'within the gorge'. Entering from the Laiji hiking trail, after ascending a long slope and descending into a deep valley, following a winding path, Zhagigu's largest two-tiered waterfall will suddenly appear, a delightful surprise. The first tier of the waterfall is grand and striking, but it pales in comparison to the immense power and majestic expanse of the second tier. Previously, Zhagigu also featured a mini third tier, but it has since disappeared due to heavy rains and earthquakes. After arriving at Tashan, visitors can reach the waterfall viewing platform via a small hiking trail. This is an excellent spot to pause, admire the waterfall, and enjoy the forest's falling water. Beyond enjoying distant views of Tashan, the waterfall, suspended like white silk within the gorge, sparkles and glistens in the sunlight, truly a beautiful and pleasing sight. Furthermore, besides admiring the spectacular sight of water cascading down the mountain in layers, visitors can also go to the base of the waterfall to enjoy the refreshing exhilaration of the powerful torrent. As the water is clean and unpolluted, many visitors even drink directly from the waterfall, finding it a uniquely refreshing experience.
