Niutiaowanbi was constructed during the Japanese colonial era, originally serving for water storage and irrigation. Covering an area of over ten hectares, it boasted abundant aquatic resources. However, with environmental changes and a lack of management, the area became dirty and neglected, severely impacting the local ecosystem and shrinking to just 6.3 hectares. Subsequently, through the active mobilization of local residents and the collaborative efforts of the county and city governments, guided by the vision of 'Blue Niutiaowan, a new fishing paradise; Green Niutiaowan, a beautiful new world; Revitalizing Niutiaowan, a friendly new community,' a comprehensive renovation took place between 2003 and 2004. This included the construction of a waterfront plaza, garden lighting, an observation deck, a lakeside boardwalk, and landscaping, among other projects, covering approximately 3 hectares. Thanks to the efforts of all parties, Niutiaowanbi has now become a beautiful new world. It not only offers local residents a wonderful spot for leisure and gatherings but also stimulates the nearby tourism industry, promotes rural leisure and ecology throughout the entire region, rekindles appreciation for local aquatic resources, and enhances the local quality of life.
