Xikou Township Cultural Life Center

Before the establishment of the brand-new Xikou Township Cultural Life Center, the most familiar public buildings to residents in Xikou Township, Chiayi County, were likely the Township Office and the elementary and junior high schools they once attended. While these buildings are responsible for serving the residents, it's unlikely one would casually suggest meeting at the Township Office for a stroll or visit unless there was official business. These types of public buildings primarily fulfill practical operational needs; cultural venues, on the other hand, are places for spiritual solace. In this agriculturally rich small town with a strong cultural atmosphere, the Xikou Township Library was an important provider of cultural resources, but it faced the challenge of limited space, leading to discussions about its renovation. Envisioned from the transformation of the library's functions to embrace diverse and multifaceted cultural possibilities, the Xikou Township Cultural Life Center, located next to Xikou Elementary School, began construction in 2005 and was completed on December 28, 2007, becoming Xikou Township's new pride and joy.
