Construction began in 1987, and after five years, the golf course was the first to be completed and opened. Located at the foot of Alishan, Palm Lake Resort, built by Toyo Enterprise, is a comprehensive resort combining golf, dining, accommodation, and leisure spa services. Swaying coconut trees, palm trees, log cabins, and staff dressed in Hawaiian shirts exude a strong Southeast Asian ambiance. The 18-hole course, designed by renowned Japanese architect Shunsuke Kato, has a par of 72 and a total length of 7064 yards. The designer skillfully utilized bunkers, water hazards, and varied terrain to create a unique and challenging championship course. Furthermore, the greens, planted with Bentgrass, offer superior ball-stopping ability, smoothness, and green speed compared to other courses in the country. In addition to the outstanding 18-hole course, the log-built clubhouse, though compact, perfectly radiates a relaxed vacation atmosphere. Its interior facilities are fully equipped, and the Phoenix Pavilion restaurant on the second floor offers exquisite Hong Kong and Taiwanese cuisine. Moreover, the resort's log cabins, constructed from imported fragrant wood, emit a natural phytoncide aroma, echoing the refined style of international Four Seasons hotels. The recently completed Tropical Island Water World, spanning 3,000 pings (approximately 9,900 square meters), was designed by international master Stephen, who faithfully recreated Hawaiian tropical charm, providing the best place for families to enjoy water activities.
