Zhongxing New Village

Zhongxing New Village, located in the northern part of Nantou City, preserves much of the glory of its former military dependents' village. It was previously the seat of the provincial government and was the second new town established in Taiwan after World War II. The community boasts numerous historical traces worth exploring, such as the 'Zhongxing Auditorium,' known as the 'Little White House' for its eye-catching European-style architecture; the 'Zhongxing Post Office No. 7 Branch' with its magnificent, expansive stamp wall displaying over 300 stamps issued in the past; and 'Provincial Government Daily Stroll,' which has revitalized old houses into literary and artistic-style shops incorporating local characteristics. Zhongxing New Village, once planted with tree saplings, now features the 'Tree-lined Avenue' as an impressive landmark, imbuing Zhongxing New Village with a rich atmosphere where culture and nature intertwine.
