Houtanjing Recreation Area

The "Houtanjing Scenic Area," located in Fushan Village, Nantou City, is a renowned attraction within the Baguashan Scenic Area, beautifully known as "Sunset Valley." If you happen to be in the park at sunset, you can take in the entire golden landscape. There are two hiking trails on the Baguashan mountain range: one connecting to a scenic pavilion and the other to the Houtanjing observation deck. The valley between them is now connected by the "Houtanjing Sky Ladder," also known as the famous "Sky Bridge." It is 204 meters long, has 265 steps, and an elevation difference of up to 5.65 meters between its two ends. On a clear day, from the bridge, you can gaze upon beautiful views such as the Changhua Plain, Xiluo Bridge, and the estuary of the Zhuoshui River, feeling as if you're walking on clouds. At night, the bridge lights up, making it even more romantic.
