Yilan Museum of Art

The Yilan Museum of Art, located in the heart of Yilan City's old town, boasts an excellent geographical location. Situated next to the five-way intersection at Nanmenjiao, it offers convenient transportation and allows visitors to connect to multiple cultural attractions nearby on foot. This museum was formerly the Yilan Branch of the Bank of Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period, and was one of the first seven branches established by the Bank of Taiwan at that time. Having undergone war damage and multiple restorations, the building itself fully displays historical traces from different eras. The preserved retro facade and heavy vault door now serve as spaces for displaying documents and artworks, allowing visitors to not only appreciate art but also immerse themselves in the timeless atmosphere of the old building.
