Wufengqi Scenic Area

Wufengqi Mountain is located on the western side of Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County, at the junction of the Xueshan Mountain Range and the Lanyang Plain. From a distance, the five peaks protruding from the plain are exceptionally striking, resembling the five banners carried on the back of a martial character in traditional opera. It is a famous scenic area in Jiaoxi Township. The craggy and precipitous Wufengqi Peaks, though only 500 meters in elevation, have steep slopes and numerous sheer cliffs. This kind of sheer cliff and precipitous terrain is formed by extremely hard quadrangular sandstone strata.
