Visitor Essentials

In the past, the island had troops stationed there, but it is now an uninhabited island. However, the remains of the original settlement and national school still retain their peaceful and pristine appearance. There are also the remnants of the Daqiu Fort military stronghold for remembrance. An ecological trail has been built on the island, with a viewing platform at the end offering distant views of Gaodeng Island. Currently, there are no regular ferries to the island. If you wish to visit, you can participate in the summer ecological bird-watching activities, and depending on weather conditions, there might be an opportunity to land and explore the island. The Lienchiang County Government and the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration offer a sea tour for tern and gull watching from July to September each year. The tour circles islets like Baimiao and Zhongdao, where you can see flocks of gulls flying. Daqiu Island allows landing for bird watching.
