Visitor Essentials

Jiangjuno Islet, located adjacent to Wang'an Island, derived its name from General Li Yin, a subordinate of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), who was stationed here during the late Ming Dynasty. With its orderly houses and numerous multi-story buildings, the island appears considerably wealthier than typical Penghu fishing villages, thus earning it the moniker "Little Hong Kong". The magnificent appearances of Jiangjun Temple, Yong'an Temple, and Tianhou Temple on the island all showcase the prosperity and vibrancy of Jiangjuno. On the eastern coast, Chuanfan Islet (Boat Sail Islet) is named for its distinctive shape. It acts as Jiangjuno Islet's 'land transport island,' connected at low tide and separated at high tide, offering a unique and enjoyable viewing experience. In its early years, Jiangjuno was also celebrated for its high-quality aragonite (wen-shi) mines, though these have gradually depleted, and mining has since ceased.
