Liyu Lake

Liyu Lake is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. Covering an area of approximately 104 hectares, it is the largest inland lake in Hualien County. The lake's surface has an elliptical shape, long from north to south and narrow from east to west, and its area fluctuates with the seasonal changes in water volume. It is named after Liyu Mountain, which is located to its east. A circular road, 4 kilometers long, has been built around the lake and can be completed in an hour on foot. Visitors can camp, picnic, and boat on the lake here. When the weather is good, Liyu Mountain to the east of the lake becomes a gathering point for paragliding enthusiasts. They pilot brightly colored paragliders, soaring between the mountain peaks and the water's edge, adding to the scenic beauty of the area.
