Huadong Valley National Scenic Area - Hego Visitor Center

Hualien and Taitung counties, located in eastern Taiwan, boast a beautiful natural environment, unspoiled local customs, and an unpolluted setting. They are rich in unique natural and cultural landscapes and abundant tourism and recreational resources. To preserve these invaluable tourism resources and natural ecosystems, while also expanding domestic tourism opportunities and accelerating the development of tourism in the eastern region, on May 30, 1996, the Executive Yuan approved the designation of the Huadong Valley area as a national scenic area. On September 13 of the same year, the establishment of the Huadong Valley National Scenic Area Administration was approved to be responsible for its planning, construction, and management. On May 1, 1997, the Huadong Valley National Scenic Area Administration was officially inaugurated and began operations at the Ruisui Rafting Service Center. The main feature of tourism activities along the Huadong Valley line is the opportunity to experience the industries, plains, and charming valleys of eastern Taiwan. Thanks to the valley's inherent resources, including its industries, landscapes, pastoral scenery, culture, and settlements, a trip here not only provides the comfort of rural relaxation but also allows visitors to further enjoy profound intellectual and educational pleasures. Attractions along the entire Huadong Valley include the Beinan-Liji area, Chulu area, Luye-Yanping area, Guanshan-Haiduan area, Chishang-Fuli area, Yuli-Zhuoxi area, Ruisui-Wanrong area, Guangfu-Fenglin area, and Shoufeng area, among others.
