Sanxiantai

Sanxiantai is located approximately 3 kilometers northeast of Chenggong (at the 110.5K mark of Provincial Highway No. 11). It is composed of a prominent cape and offshore islets. The island is renowned due to a popular folk legend: because there are three large rocks on the island, it is believed that Lü Dongbin, He Xiangu, and Li Tieguai, three of the Eight Immortals, once landed here during their journey across the sea. Sanxiantai's geology consists of Tuluanshan volcanic agglomerate. Originally a cape, it gradually became an offshore island as seawater erosion severed its neck. The surrounding waters are rich in fish, making it a fishing ground, a famous rock fishing spot, and an excellent location for all levels of diving. The eight-arch red cross-sea pedestrian bridge at Sanxiantai resembles a reclining dragon across the waves, presenting a magnificent and spectacular sight. The island's geological landscape and ecological resources are exceptionally unique and rare, boasting a wide variety of coastal plant species, making it an important base for studying coastal plant ecology. Visitors can follow well-planned trails to observe the ecology and geology along the way. A visit to the island takes approximately 2 hours, during which visitors can admire special geological formations such as potholes, sea caves, sea trenches, and sea-eroded cliffs, as well as precious and rare coastal plants.
