Visitor Essentials

Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park, situated at the intersection of Nanzi District and Qiaotou District in Kaohsiung City, covers an area of approximately 35 hectares. It features vast, flat grasslands and forested green spaces, along with facilities such as a exquisitely landscaped swimming pool, ecological exhibition room, parent-child play room, and library. A prominent landmark within the park is the cleverly designed "Golden Rooster Sundial" sculpture, one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, standing in the central plaza. Beneath the golden rooster, there is a ground shadow map crafted from engraved bronze plates. Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park was once a landfill site. Today, the park is adorned with flourishing flowers and lush green lawns, creating a serene recreational ambiance reminiscent of international parks. The park management frequently organizes events on weekends, such as the "Caring for Taiwan" lecture series and parent-child nature observation activities.
