Yuanheng Temple is located in Gushan District, Kaohsiung City. It was originally named Yuanxing Temple, also known as Yanzai Temple. It is situated at the foot of Shoushan Mountain. According to the Kaohsiung City Annals and Chronicle, it was founded in 1743 AD by Master Jingyuan from Zhangzhou, Fujian. The main deity worshipped is Guanyin Bodhisattva. In 1926 AD, the temple was renovated and renamed Yuanheng Temple. It is a considerably large temple in the Kaohsiung area.
