Kaohsiung Port

Kaohsiung Port is located at the southern end of Kaohsiung City and is Taiwan's largest international port. It is also ranked as the world's 15th largest container port. The port area is vast, boasts a wide hinterland, and a warm climate. A long, narrow sandbar lies along the coast. With its superior geographical conditions, the harbor is a natural masterpiece. Currently, the port's water area spans 26.66 square kilometers, and its navigation channels are 18 kilometers long. This port plays a vital role in Kaohsiung's industrial tourism. The government is planning to develop Kaohsiung Port into a maritime transshipment hub for the Asia-Pacific region. Visitors can admire the charming waterfront scenery of Kaohsiung Port. At the entrance of the Second Port, on both the left and right sides, stand two highly creative signal towers shaped like the Chinese character '高' (gāo, meaning high). These are also a major feature of Kaohsiung Port. Banana Pier is uniquely situated, nestled between mountains and the sea. It directly faces Kaohsiung Port's First Port and is separated by sea from Cijin Island. To its north are Sizihwan Bay and Shoushan Mountain, and to its east are the West Coastal Cycling Path and Yancheng Old Street. Benefiting from its natural advantages and diverse planning, it has become a new landmark for Kaohsiung's tourist piers today.
