Tianliao Moon World

Tianliao Moon World is located between Chongde and Guting villages in Tianliao District. Due to its barren nature, it possesses a desolate, desert-like beauty, resembling the landscape of the moon, which has made it widely famous. This unique landscape is geographically known as 'badlands' terrain. It is formed due to crustal uplift and the prolonged, intense erosion of the terrain by rainwater and rivers over many years, resulting in this harsh landscape. Moon World is situated within a valley of a small tributary of the Erren River. A check dam was built in the valley to store water during the rainy season, named the 'Moonscape Pond.' However, in just over a decade, the pond has been severely scoured by rainwater, leaving behind only a scene of vast desolation.
