Visitor Essentials

This botanical garden, covering approximately 8.6 hectares, is part of the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture. It serves as an experimental plantation for tropical economic tree species and is also managed as a mother tree garden. Many of the trees cultivated here are plants with cultural significance, such as the famous mahogany, Hoop Pine, Blackboard Tree, Brazilian rubber tree, and more. Within the park, towering trees stand majestically, their natural simplicity fully embodying the tranquil atmosphere of a forest. Winding paths and lush canopies lead to an ancient stone monument inscribed with "Lin Chang Feng Ching" (Forest's Serene Breeze), one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Chiayi, which tells of the garden's esteemed reputation.
