As a modern person in the 21st century, you are likely familiar with the term "natural ecological conservation." However, how much do you truly know about the natural resources nurtured by Taiwan, this beautiful treasure island? A visit to the Conservation Education Center, located in the small town of Jiji in Nantou County, will provide you with a deeper understanding of "natural ecological conservation" in Taiwan. As you step into the Conservation Education Center, a familiar old banyan tree comes into view, as if transporting you back to nostalgic times. The area under the banyan tree was not only a gathering place for people in the past, but its massive canopy and sweet fruits also attract numerous birds, cicadas, lizards, squirrels, insects, and other animals. This is a tree of life that functions as both a "biodiversity island" and an "air purifier." Furthermore, the center focuses on Taiwan's native ecology and biology, with themes such as high, mid, and low-altitude ecosystems, endemic animals, endemic plants, environment-biology-human interaction, nature conservation, the mysteries of plants, and the wonders of animals. Each theme is accompanied by vivid and interactive multimedia computer games, making it seem as if Taiwan's diverse ecological environments have been brought inside the center, allowing you to glimpse the splendor and mystery of Taiwan's biodiversity and ecological environment in just a few hours. After visiting the Conservation Center, there is also an outdoor ecological education park spanning 3.5 hectares and a butterfly garden. Strolling through it, with flowers, birds, insects, and animals appearing unexpectedly, will be a truly wonderful experience. We sincerely invite you to share with us the vibrant beauty of Taiwan's natural ecology.
