Fenghuanggu Bird and Ecology Park

Fenghuanggu Bird Park, nestled within the Fenghuanggu Scenic Area near Xitou, is the first aviary invested in and operated by the government. The park is vast and offers beautiful scenery, housing hundreds of rare and exotic bird species from around the world. It also features a natural bird-watching area, making it an excellent attraction for both education and entertainment. The 30-hectare Fenghuanggu Bird and Ecology Park (formerly National Fenghuanggu Bird Park) is set within a natural forest. It features over ten bird enclosures that wind through the natural terrain, housing and displaying more than 5,000 birds from Taiwan and around the world. These include mountain birds, river birds, seabirds, and migratory birds, each with distinct ecological habits. Connecting the enclosures are walking paths and stone steps, totaling approximately 2 kilometers, making it the largest bird park in Southeast Asia. A notable feature is the "Sky Net Area," an enclosure built along the mountain slope and covered with wire mesh, reaching about eight stories high. This area preserves its original natural ecological landscape, allowing visitors to enter and observe the birds' natural behaviors firsthand. The park houses and displays thousands of rare and exotic birds from Taiwan and around the world. Its primary objective is to create an educational environment that fosters an appreciation for nature, using birds as a focal point to broaden public understanding of wild birds and the importance of natural ecological conservation.
