Huisun Forest Recreational Area

Huisun Forest Recreational Area, located in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, is one of the four forest recreational areas affiliated with National Chung Hsing University. Covering an area of up to 7,000 hectares, its altitude ranges from 450 meters to 2,420 meters. The continuous forest exhibits characteristics of warm, temperate, and subtropical zones, harboring a rich and diverse ecosystem of flora and fauna. The Beigang River and its tributaries crisscross the area, creating natural landscapes such as canyons, waterfalls, and rapids, presenting a truly natural beauty. Huisun boasts vast coffee plantations. In summer and autumn, the coffee cherries ripen to a vibrant red, creating a picturesque scene. Amidst the verdant lawns embraced by mountains, visitors can savor aromatic and rich Taiwanese coffee while enjoying the scenery, immersing themselves in nature's embrace, and forgetting worldly worries. The forest area offers year-round scenic routes, with designated areas for bird watching, maple viewing, cherry blossom viewing, and firefly watching. Visitors can enjoy forest bathing, hiking, bird watching, flower viewing, and other recreational activities. Well-planned recreational trails within the forest provide various activities such as playing in the water, sightseeing, bird watching, hiking, and forest bathing. Visitors can choose different trails to experience the natural ecosystem based on their preferences, time, and physical ability.
