Yongjing Yusan Hall

Yusan Hall is the ancestral home of the prominent Chen clan in Yongjing Township, built in 1884. It features a blend of Southern Fujian and Eastern Guangdong architectural styles, representing the integration of Hakka and early Southern Fujian immigrant cultures during the late Qing Dynasty. Inside, the hall still retains the exquisite paintings and intricate carvings from its original construction. In the center of the main hall's altar, ancestral tablets are enshrined. On either side of the offering table, there are eight grand chairs (taishi chairs) and a ceremonial plaque. The plaques are inscribed with 'Chengyun Jinshi' (Imperial Scholar) and 'Enshou Gongyuan' (Tribute Scholar by Imperial Grace), offering a glimpse into the owner's esteemed status and high prestige at the time.
