Visitor Essentials

The European-style folk arts museum stands out remarkably amidst the quaint town of Lukang. It was originally the magnificent mansion of a prominent local wealthy merchant, later donated to display unique cultural artifacts and collections. The entire museum is divided into three sections: A, B, and C. Section A, completed in 1919, features a Baroque-style facade imitating the Renaissance period, with exquisite carvings. Section B is a traditional Taiwanese folk house built slightly earlier than the Western-style mansion. Section C is the 'Gufeng Tower,' built in the 18th century in the style of a local Lukang street house. The museum exhibits various cultural artifacts from the mid-Qing Dynasty to the early Republican era, making it well worth a detailed visit.
