Dongshi Forest Recreation Area

Located in Dongshi District, Taichung City, covering an area of over 200 hectares, it belongs to the Changhua County Farmers' Association and is situated at an elevation of 500-700 meters above sea level. It boasts distinct seasonal landscapes, surrounded by mountains on three sides and bordered by water on one side, giving it a unique geographical advantage. The area features well-equipped resort cabins, a children's playground, a camping and barbecue area, conference rooms, Taiwan's first forest bathing trail, an agricultural product sales center, and more, making it ideal for family trips, as well as company training sessions and workshops. In recent years, Dongshi Forest Recreation Area has continuously enhanced its environment, offering an endless display of flowers throughout the year. The plum blossoms in January, cherry blossoms and azaleas from January to March, tung blossoms from April to May, and the autumn foliage season from November to January are particularly outstanding, earning it the reputation as the 'Yangmingshan of Central Taiwan'. Furthermore, the recreation area has established Taiwan's most renowned firefly viewing spot, where fireflies can be seen from March to September. Interpretive guides are also available within the area for visitors to utilize.
