Wenzitou Mangrove Ecological Reserve

Mangroves are evergreen small trees that thrive in estuarine intertidal zones and coastal swamps. They purify seawater and accumulate various inorganic salts and organic matter carried by rivers and the ocean. The decomposition of their fallen leaves and branches further enriches the area with abundant nutrients, providing sustenance for fish, shrimp, crabs, and shellfish, which in turn become food for birds, thereby forming a small ecosystem. Every autumn and winter, numerous migratory birds flock here to rest and forage, making it an excellent location for birdwatching. The reserve spans 3 hectares and features facilities like pedestrian walkways and observation decks, enabling visitors to conveniently observe the mangrove's ecological environment and growth process firsthand. It serves as an excellent outdoor nature classroom.
