The Neiwan Scenic Area boasts pleasant weather and is surrounded by mountains, with the Youluo River flowing through it. "Neiwan Fishing" is one of Hsinchu's Eight Scenic Wonders. The Neiwan Branch Line, a quaint train service, is one of Taiwan Railways' three branch lines. Visitors to Neiwan can take this train from Zhudong for an unforgettable nostalgic journey. It feels like stepping into a movie scene, with the clear waters of the Youluo River, about 100 meters wide, stretching before you. From the highway, the panoramic view of the expansive riverbed, verdant forests, and graceful suspension bridges resembles a paradise on Earth. Five suspension bridges crisscross the riverbed, making Neiwan famous for its bridges. In the shallow parts of the riverbank beneath the Neiwan Suspension Bridge, you can catch shrimp and crabs; in deeper areas, you can swim; and on the sandy sections, you can barbecue and camp, making it an excellent spot for weekend outings. Guangji Temple, the train station, the theater, and the Neiwan Suspension Bridge on the old street are all brimming with nostalgic charm, offering endless enjoyment as you explore them. The vivid images of Brother Ah-san and Granny Auntie, characters from Liu Hsing-chin's comics, have become iconic symbols of Neiwan. The street's amusing comics and local specialties like the recently popular ginger lily rice dumplings add a rich touch of human warmth to the old street.
