Visitor Essentials

The Northeast and Yilan Coast Scenic Area is located in the northeastern corner of Taiwan. Its land area stretches from Nanya Village, Ruifang District, New Taipei City in the north, to the cape south of Neipi Beach in Su'ao Township in the south. The coastline is 102.5 kilometers long, and the total area of sea and land combined is 17,421 hectares. Nestled between mountains and sea, the Northeast Coast features numerous bays and capes, rugged and unique rock formations, towering cliffs, magnificent sea-eroded landforms, fine golden sandy beaches, and diverse marine ecosystems. It has also nurtured simple yet rich cultural and historical sites. It is an all-encompassing tourist destination that combines the educational function of a natural classroom with the emotional charm of a coastal playground. To strengthen the development of the Northeast Coast's scenic resources and ecological conservation, the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, specifically established a management office on June 1, 1984 (Minguo Year 73). This office is dedicated to the development, construction, and management of the Northeast Coast's tourism and recreational resources. In addition to gradually developing beautiful scenic spots based on the natural features within the area, it has also planned land and marine resource protected areas to ensure the sustained vitality of the Northeast Coast.
