Dali

From Dali onwards along the Northeast Coast, the landscape features hogback mountains and tofu rock formations, offering a unique scenery. Located by the coastal highway, nestled against the mountains and facing the sea, the Dali Tian Gong Temple is a renowned and highly popular temple in the area, primarily dedicated to the Jade Emperor. When the temple was first established in 1836, its scale was rather modest. It was only after its renovation in 1904 that it acquired its magnificent appearance seen today. From the temple front, one can overlook the vast Pacific Ocean and the ethereal Guishan Island, while the temple's rear marks the exit of the Caoling Historic Trail. A visitor service center is located on the right side of the temple, offering exhibitions and information services.
